The 1.5 Year Climb of Snowy Mount Hearteverest

How Dex and Jourdan met

Met at work Met in Naperville Anniversary September 12, 2020

In October 2017 my life changed as I laid eyes upon who I knew, for a fact, at the time, would be the person I spend the rest of my life with. I use to hear people say this all of the time and I never thought even for a little bit they were serious. Then, it happened.

Around then I recently got a new job at a new hip company in Naperville, I was referred to this company by my Best Man ironically, John Ulven. I applied and got hired, yay me. If I could sit here and tell you I was getting a great job, at a new company, with nothing but green skies ahead I can smile and tell you that would have been enough for me. YET, here we are. I get to the office for the first time, I'm still not hired yet mind you but I am getting a tour of the facility, and who do I see, sitting in the corner table, by herself... This MEAN, EVIL, ANGRY looking young lady, who shot daggers from those big beautiful eyes at me, I've been hooked ever since.

Yes, I know what you're thinking, "Really Dex? You had that moment of moments?" YES. I saw fireworks, gold stars, bright shiny lights, hearts, balloons, unicorns, you name it. From the moment I laid eyes on the future Mrs. Brocks, I knew for a fact, my search for love had come to an end. My only issue now however, was figuring out how to crack that giant ice block that she had built around her for one reason or another.

After climbing snowy Mount Everest to her heart, for what I like to call, "The 1.5 Year Climb" I was able to make a friend, which lead to gaining a best friend, which eventually lead me to December 17th, 2019 . After asking properly for permission from her amazing parents and also asking for what I like to call, (Please Help Me I Have No Idea What I'm Doing), help from her sister Kylee, I had the plan to propose to my best friend on that snowy night in front of her parents and her son.

Success, she said yes! One of the proudest moments of my life. I still till this day haven't seen the video of me proposing. There is one out there somewhere. I don't remember what I said, but I hope it was something to the affect of, Jourdan Jackson, you saved my life. You took me from the lowest of lows and showed me the highest of highs that life has to offer. You connected my soul deeply to a power I didn't know existed. You taught me how to love me for me, you showed me humility, a different side of being. You are the greatest thing that has ever happened to me in this lifetime and I can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together. I can't wait for all of our future events and journeys together. This is only the beginning!

This is our story, The 1.5 Year Climb.
